    Dobi's models Empty Dobi's models

Post by Dobi Mon Feb 20, 2012 7:23 am

I'm going to put renders of models made by me here.

Here's what I started making today. It's a 1998-2002 Base Camaro Coupe. I gotta say that has to be the hardest car I've ever tried to model. Extremely hard, considering the fact that I also can't find any good blueprints for it. I remember that like 1 or 2 years ago I modeled a low-poly '93-'97 coupe and it was much easier.

Great job! Which modelling program do you use? Any plans with the model? Polycount so far?

Thank you. Blender's the program. As for the polycount, it is just 14 256 quad polies. The only plan I have so far is to use it to make myself a signature and avatar for this forum when it is finished.

Maybe it won't be a base coupe, though. I would make an SS hood, rims and badging for it, as well as some T-tops. But that will only happen if I don't get too lazy! Razz

Now, I refined the front end even more, so now it is even closer in accuracy to the real car. I also made some unrefined detail on the side.

    LMFAO

I gotta say, good work there pal.

I found this nice free model online of a 1993 Camaro. It's only the exterior, and it's incredibly accurate and well modeled. If you want, I can send you that model, you'd just have to finish it. And of course, I can get you as many high res textures as you want...haha

It's looking good so far. It'd like to see it converted to a game.

I ain't interested into finishing anyone else's work, but mine, at the moment. There are too many projects on my head currently. Still, I would be happy if you can send me this model. I could use it as a live reference for my 1998-2002 Camaro, if it is THAT accurate.

Hmm, I could make a mod for NFS Most Wanted or something. Though I remember seeing a 1998-2002 Camaro from Forza already converted to MW, I think.

Screw those FM3 conversions, the models are crappy, inaccurate and they will never have the spirit of a scratch made model.
Anyway, nice job. Can't wait to see more! Razz
